A Displacement Engine is a handheld device, which only just fits into a blazer pocket. It measures 86mm x 150mm x 40mm and weighs 350g. On the left side a simple rocker switch turns it on and off, and on the right a slider mechanism toggles how often new satellite data is used to calculate a heading. The unit requires up to 5 minutes on a cold start-up to aquire sufficient satellite signal. In inclement weather a Displacement Engine may take longer to aquire a signal and it's accuracy and performance will be compromised. A single PP3 battery cell is adequate for over two and a half hours constant use. A micro-bulb provides illumination for use at night. A Displacement Engine is not your friend. |
